Facebook and Twitter Can Make Anxiety Worse

A new study suggests that spending time on Facebook or twitter may increase anxiety symptoms. When volunteers from 12 universities across the globe were asked to turn off their electronic devices they reported experiencing withdrawal symptoms. A large percentage of participants reporting feeling anxious and worried when they were not able to check their Facebook account. More than half of participants felt that the introduction of social networking has negatively affected their life.
