Alarmingly, almost half of these people also said they would not want to get professional help if they did become depressed. This is a concern because depression is a very serious illness. Some individuals with depression are at an increased risk for suicide, and many are also at risk for having substance abuse problems.

Getting treated for depression and other mental health problems like Emetophobia is always a good idea if you find that the methods you try on your own aren’t working. There’s nothing wrong with letting someone know that you need help. For many people, this is the best way to heal.
